Orcas Center is hugely dependent on volunteers to keep our arts center running smoothly. Consider joining our volunteer team. We need everyone, from folks who want to work on a one-time basis to those that want to establish an ongoing volunteer schedule. Volunteer assignments at Orcas Center offer the opportunity to learn a new skill, meet new people, get behind the scenes, contribute to organizational initiatives and have fun.
Production
The stage and production team are an integral part to our team. They are the backbone of our music shows, dramatic productions and all the other great offerings that the Orcas center has. The production team comprises of:
Stage management
Lighting and sound operation
Production crew
Set and costume construction
Front of house
As the face of the Orcas Center, our Front of House team will greet and interact with patrons as they arrive and throughout the shows. We are looking for warm, welcoming people that want to be part of the production! Some roles include:
Box office staff
House management
Ushering
Beverage and CD sales
Administrative
Keeping track of all the information we recieve is an essential part to our success. Administrative volunteers help us gt our message out to the community and make sure everyone knows about our shows! Duties include:
Data entry and mailing parties
Maintaining event archives
Facilities
The Orcas Center is great building and the center of our community. The Facilities team keeps things in order and performs the maintenance needed to keep things running.
Grounds maintenance
Organization and maintenance of scene, costume and storage shops
Special events:
Orcas Center hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including a major summer gala dinner, the annual Golf Classic, and Burgers + Brew supper events. Volunteer opportunities include: menu planning, decorating, food and beverage service, event set up and clean up.
