Workshops from Mountain Grove Creators

Broadway professional Noah Racey, Voice Over Artist Jason Yudoff, and Director Dick Scanlan will be in residency at Orcas Center in late March. During this time, not only are they creating a brand new work, “Mountain Grove” to be performed on the Orcas Center Main Stage March 31st-April 2nd, they are offering a variety of workshops to the public.

Registration fee is $100 for each workshop and participant size is limited to six. However, if you want to view the process without participating, you can get an audience ticket for $15!


Song Interpretation with Noah Racey

Work on your favorite song with Broadway performer Noah Racey, and renown accompanist Ross Patterson.  Enrich your personal connection to the songs you sing, cultivate a fuller understanding of how you approach your interpretation, and identify and utilize skills to help you create a journey through your piece that is uniquely and powerfully yours.

Get tips and feedback from professional Voice Actor Jason Yudoff, a NY based artist with 25 years’ experience in the recording booth, on how to read scripts with authenticity, understand delivery and emotional storytelling, as well as identifying different genres and where your voiceover style fits. Come record spots and listen to fellow artists refine their skills. Bring your own material for feedback and instruction or pick some new copy and brush up on your cold reading skills. Dick Scanlan is a writer/director who’s worked on Broadway and around the world, including the book and lyrics to the Tony Award winning musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie. This workshop will help you gain professional insight into choosing projects, understanding characters, working with actors and designers, and other aspects of the directing process.
