Earth Day Festival 2019

You are warmly invited to celebrate our Earth at Orcas Center on
April 21st from 10 am to 7 pm.

Presenters will offer speaking topics related to the preservation of our planet, and
global/local issues like sustainability and plastic pollution.

Center Stage-

10:00 AM – 10:15 AM – Opening “Protecting Earth’s Species” with Asifa and Marta

10:15 AM – 11:10 AM – Special Earth Day Movement and yoga workshop with Debora Babcock of Harmony Network Chiropractic & Yoga

11:10 AM – 11:45 AM – Happy Earth Day sounds by Revivify Burke, Mulvany and Josie Dow

11:50 PM – 12:05 PM – Announcements and Intro with Asifa Pasin Orcas Recycling Service/The Exchange Board team

12:05 PM – 12:20 PM – Orcas Recycling Service/The Exchange Board President Tim Blanchard

12:20 PM – 12:40 PM – “Kids Can Save the Planet” with youth presenter Dylan DHaze, followed with a song by Irthlingz, Sharon Abreu and Michael Hurwicz

12:45 PM – 1:20 PM – Tipping point film short – Featuring Dylan DHaze, song following film by Irthlingz once again

1:30 PM – 1:50 PM – Jay Kimball Odd Fellow/Earth Enthusiast will talk about “Community solar and low interest finance for energy efficiency”

2:00 PM – 2:55 PM – “Renewable Energy + Solar Power” with Eric Youngren

3:00 PM – 3:15 PM – “Protect What You Love: actions steps for preserving the Salish Sea Marine environment” slideshow with Tina Whitman

3:15 PM – 4:00 PM – “Think Globally, Act Orcasly” with David Turnoy, Sharon Abreu, Ryan Palmateer and Michael Riordan

4:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Irthlingz and Revivify co-host Community Open Mic – sing a song, read a poem, share something about Earth Day that inspires you

5:30 PM – 5:40 PM – Earth Day Song and video performance with community and Rock on the Rock Choir Volunteers

5:45 PM – 6:50 PM – Trashion Fashion Show with Recycled DJ beats by Charlie Eon
