The Pine Needles

A group starting as the OIHS Band Club, these local teenagers practice at lunch in the shop classroom. Focusing on covers from 90s alternative rock groups, The Pine Needles draw a lot of their inspiration from Nirvana, Sublime, Weezer as well as Led Zepplin. Many of the members are multi-instrumentalists and have a background in orchestra, pep band, and hiphop. As garagebands are shifting to streaming, The Pine Needles are bringing a fresh sense of youth live music to Orcas Island.
