In olden days, a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking, now heaven knows ANYTHING GOES!

Come and experience one of the most popular events of the year at Orcas Center. For this final hurrah, Martin Lund brings local and regional artists together to collaborate and celebrate with our community. After a 17 year run, One World will be retired and put out to pasture.

The One World 2019 Line-up Includes:

Seattle’s Moovin’ and Groovin’ Rhythm Machine, a bona fide bomb of pumpin’ rhythmic fire! The finest Seattle jazz players (Brian Kirk, drums, Chuck Deardorf, bass, Jake Sele, piano) will be present and accounted for, accompanying other acts as well as paying tribute to the late king of surf guitar, Dick Dale. This last genre would indubitably be stretching the limits of the theme, “Anything Goes”.

Tiffany/Katie: “Puttin on the Ritz”, an old up tempo standard, sure to get all senior citizens out of their chairs quickly onto the dance floor – tappers look alive!

BroGrass: They’re growing up and can pick with the best of the Smokey Mountain boys.

Almost Classical: Coming back from college after nine months and better than ever.

Turtleback Brass: Wild card! You never know what these guys will do next but it will be in tune and it will smoke.

Young Composers and Improvisors Orchestra: Young players that are excited about playin’ their axe (instrument) and learning how to play jazz at the same time.

Pete Kirkland: Giving us great entertainment with classic Do-Wops, James Brown tunes and a big smile. This guy has been around and has done it! I suspect a costume change from the 1st to the 2nd set. That’s the way Pete does things.

Adia Dolan: Adia was the break-out star of Orcas Center’s most recent production, “Cirque-Us”, belting out tunes with feet-stomping passion. For One World, Adia will be joining Martin Lund & Friends on Stage singing and bringing the ‘Fire’! a song originally by Sara Bareilles.
