Orcas High School’s “Theatre as Literature” class presents The Tempest.

OIHS Theatre as Literature class will perform Shakespeare’s The Tempest at Orcas Center’s Black Box Theater, OffCenter Stage. Jake Perrine directs 21 high school students in Shakespeare’s timeless classic of revenge and forgiveness.

A generous grant from the Orcas Island Education Foundation, with partnership between Orcas Island School/Val Hellar’s Theatre as Literature Class, makes these performances possible.

Local director and actor, Robert Hall, portrays Prospero, the displaced Duke of Milan, cast away on a remote island with his daughter Miranda, who calls down a tempest of revenge on his usurpers.

The remaining cast are OIHS students: Cyrus Amour, Richardo DeAnda, Alyssa Johns, Aiden McGregor, Brittany Kern, Brad Neal, Cierra Lutz, Evan “Brother” Murphy, Henry McMurray, Jessica Nichols, Journey Howden, Kai McGregor, Katarina Schiller, Margot Van Gelder, Pearl Mudd, Phaedra Osborn, Tori Sturk, Ella Nelson, Geraldo Jimenez, Jacqueline Figueroa, Miles Harlow.
