Scott Cossu is an internationally known, composer, pianist and recording artist. He was one of the first artists to join the label Windham Hill, with founder, Will Ackerman. Even though he is one of the grandfathers of the New Age scene; Billboard Magazine labeled him a “jazz luminary of the future”.

After many successful recordings and placing on top of the Billboard charts, his career has brought him international fame. He has had sold out shows in Germany, England, Japan, Costa Rica and Chile. Scott’s latest recording, Safe in Your Arms, with Heart Dance Records, was released August 2015. In April 2016, the Zone Music Reporter nominated Safe in Your Arms, for “Best Piano with Instrumentation”.

Scott continues to live in the Northwest, content with his musicians’ life of touring, composing, family, and surrounded by the beauty of the PNW. Cellist, Holly Reeves will be joining Scott as a special guest for this special Orcas Center performance.

Special Guest: Sanjaya Malakar

In his Orcas Island swan song, Sanjaya Malakar opens the show with pianist Stephen Fairweather. Sanjaya is a singer and entertainer who was born and raised in the greater Seattle area. In addition to many years of musical theatre, including a short stint Off-Broadway, he has performed in multiple national tours as well as a number of international music events. Sanjaya secured the 7th place position as a finalist on the sixth season of American Idol, making him an instant household name. In recent years, Sanjaya has focused more on his community, performing in various local theatre and music productions. He continues to share his love of music through teaching and collaboration, with a strong focus on the art of intention and the importance of personal expression.
