Get involved at YOUR Orcas Center

Orcas Center is dependent on volunteers to keep our arts center running smoothly!

We need everyone, from folks who want to work on a one-time basis to those that want to establish an ongoing volunteer schedule. Volunteer assignments at Orcas Center offer the opportunity to learn a new skill, meet new people, get behind the scenes, contribute to organizational initiatives and have fun! Below is all the information you need regarding volunteer opportunities at Orcas Center:

Volunteering at a community arts center offers a vibrant and rewarding way to support local creativity while developing valuable skills and connections. Whether you’re passionate about the performing arts, visual arts, or simply enjoy engaging with your community, there are a variety of roles to match your interests and strengths. Volunteers play a vital role in helping the arts center thrive, ensuring that programs, performances, and exhibitions run smoothly and continue to inspire audiences of all ages.

Front-of-house opportunities are ideal for those who enjoy interacting with people and being part of the audience experience. Volunteers in these roles may greet visitors, sell tickets, assist with seating, or provide information about upcoming events. Their warm presence helps create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back. Meanwhile, those who prefer behind-the-scenes work can contribute in back-of-house or production roles—helping with set design, costumes, props, or stage management to bring performances to life.

Beyond the performance spaces, volunteers are also essential in administrative and technical areas. Administrative volunteers assist with office tasks, event planning, and marketing efforts, ensuring that the center’s operations remain organized and efficient. Technical volunteers, on the other hand, may work with lighting, sound, or digital media, supporting the technical excellence of each show or exhibition. Together, these varied opportunities allow individuals to share their talents, learn new skills, and make a meaningful impact on the cultural heartbeat of the community.

Please reach out to the department heads to find out what specalized opportunities might be available!
