Explore our natural world with this community show featuring botanicals! Community shows are open to ALL island artists, beginning and experienced alike. The purpose is to showcase island art and celebrate our creative neighbors! To exhibit in a community show, an artist needs to come on the Installation Day (for this show, June 25th) with their artwork ready to be displayed or hung.
On Installation Day, the artist will fill out two labels including title, artist name, the medium, and the price, (or denoted NFS). One label will be attached to the artwork, the second will be given to the committee. The artist will also fill out an Artist Agreement and Sales Information Sheet if she or he does not already have one on file. All placement and hanging of the art will be done by the VAC.
Artists are urged to attend and contribute hors d’oeuvres for the Artist Reception on Friday, June 27th

I’ve been taught to play and enjoy my work, and never take it too seriously. This has led me to be a very process oriented artist. I like doing things the long way, I like getting my hands dirty with my work, and truly having every step of it be ‘me’.
After working for many years as a photographer, I’ve found a new home with mixed media. I work with found/used/recycled objects to give them new life. I find creative freedom in the limitation of working with what I can find at the Exchange, or in my friends trash cans. So many interesting things lie beneath the plastic exterior of objects we are told to use, briefly, then discard.
Zoe Osenbach graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2010 with a BA in photography. She has since had art exhibitions in Olympia, Seattle, Whidbey Island, and her home, Orcas Island.
