Della the baker makes cakes, not judgement calls- those she leaves to her husband, Tim.  But when the young woman she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina to get married, and the fiance is actually a fiancee, Della’s life gets turned upside down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? For the first time in her life, Della has to think for herself.

CALLING ALL BAKERS!

Orcas Center would LOVE your help to make this fall’s production of The Cake a unique celebration of local culinary artists!

The Cake is a charming story of a journey to acceptance with the primary location being in a bakery. We’d love to feature a different cake each performance from a local baker to be served to the audience after the curtain closes. If you’ve never fancied yourself an actor or set-builder, here’s your chance to volunteer and get involved with the arts at Orcas Center! Each baker will receive a special insert to the program highlighting their creation and giving thanks – Or, of course, you can remain completely anonymous…your choice!

For more information and to get involved, please contact Suzanne Gropper at suzgropper@gmail.com or 360-220-0846.
