There’s a lot to consider right now about the need for love and compassion in so many places, isn’t there? Last Sunday I attended a packed memorial service for one of our own, right here in the Madrona Room. Artha Kass was an islander who offered her volunteer service here on the island in many, many ways, but it was the sharing about the experience of her love, over and over, that moved me the most. One sentence in particular struck me to my core —
That’s it, isn’t it? Please join local artist / writer Debra Lee Babcock and poet Jill McCabe Johnson to cozy up in the Madrona Room around the fireplace and listen to local readers reading their own and other’s words on the subject. There will be lots of open-mike slots as well, so if you’ve got a favorite of your own or someone else’s, please sign up!
The evening is FREE and UN-TICKETED, by DONATION – All funds will be in support of the WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN for those suffering loss from the CALIFORNIA FIRES
