Please note: The Opening Reception, originally scheduled for May 27th has been canceled.
For the upcoming art exhibit at Orcas Center, the Visual Arts Committee is seeking images of the beauty and bounty of our gardens and fields, everything from single blossoms, to bouquets in vases, to landscapes and fields of hay. As always all mediums are included, photography, painting, collage etc.
The art will enhance the walls of the Center from May 27th through July 5th and will ultimately be the backdrop for the Summer Gala, “In the Garden”. We realize this is a slightly limiting theme so we are inviting artists to bring several pieces and we will hang as many as we have space for. Please have the pieces ready to hang.
Important Information for Artists:
Weds, May 25th, 10am to 12pm — Bring Art to Orcas Center
May 27th – July 5th — Art on display
Weds, July 6th, 10am to 12pm — Pick-up Art from Orcas Center
The Madrona Room and lobby will be closed from July 7th-July 26th for maintenance. Please pick up your art in a timely manner!
Some reminders about exhibiting at Orcas Center:
- All Art must be ready for display
- Depending on volume, we may not be able to hang every piece. But will do our best to have a representation of all artists
- Artist commission is 70% if they are an OC member, and 60% if they are not. (Membership at OC starts at just $25/year)
- Pieces do not have to be for sale to be displayed.
