    An all-local cast is revving up to present this classic musical on the main stage, directed by Liz Doane and choreographed by the Orcas Dance Collective with musical direction by Pedro De La Victoria. Shows are Feb. 27-28, March 1, 6-8 and 13-14, starting at 7 p.m. On March 1 and 8, matinees are at 1 p.m.

This family-friendly event is on Wednesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. on Orcas Center’s main stage.

    “How To Eat Like A Child” is based on the book of the same name by Delia Ephron. The musical version began its life as an NBC primetime special, which premiered in 1981, starring Dick Van Dyke. It was an immediate hit in schools, camps and community centers.

Often referred to as a "career builder for women in comedy," it was originally created as a tribute to comedian Mary Jo Wobker.

    Five weekly classes - students need to show a willingness to be in class regularly, stay focused, and work hard.  There are no prerequisites for doing this work, other than it will be physical and vocal in nature, and there will sometimes be bodily contact between participants.

    Stomp, clap, sing, and shout... Be a part of the show as "Queen Mother" pays tribute to Queen's music in the space where it belongs, live on stage. Hailing from Seattle, Queen Mother harnesses the Northwest’s best talent to bring these epic songs to life, including Under Pressure, We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, and many more. With each show they make the whole room a stage, hoping to draw out your inner “Freddie.”

    Marina Grozdanovic in Concert

    Pianist Marina Grozdanovic will be performing music composed in France from the Baroque to the Impressionist era, by composers Rameau, Couperin, Chopin, Debussy and Ravel at Orcas Center. Each piece will be accompanied by paintings or photographs on the big screen, which Grozdanovic personally chose to match the music.

    From a Lummi invocation, to tapping down Broadway, to the quiet waters of Waldron Island, we celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary with music that will carry you through the centuries and across the continent in a heartwarming choral experience, featuring dance and instrumentalists.

    Summer Theater Intensive

    A launchpad for youth ages 10-18 to learn performing arts skills and have an epic summer of fun! This intensive is split into two different camps: Performing Arts (4 Weeks) & Theater Tech (2 Weeks). Both cohorts will work together to produce and perform the 1-act musical James and the Giant Peach, JR. based on the fantasy book by Roald Dahl. This intensive will work towards a full production and culminate with a performance weekend on Orcas Center Mainstage!
