The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) is excited to present the next community show art opening: Here Comes the Sun on Friday, November 21 from 5:30pm – 7pm.
As the year draws to a close and the days slowly begin to lengthen, Here Comes the Sun invites you to celebrate the return of light, warmth, and renewal through the lens of community creativity. Through art, we find strength to face obstacles, moments of solace, and renewed joy. This uplifting exhibition showcases local artists of all ages and backgrounds reflecting on themes of hope, transformation, and the promise of brighter days ahead. Whether inspired by personal growth, seasonal change, or the enduring cycles of nature, each piece honors the resilience and beauty that come with new beginnings.
Join us in honoring the creative spark that brings our community together and illuminates the path forward!
Community shows are open to ALL island artists, beginning and experienced alike. The purpose is to showcase island art and celebrate our creative neighbors! To exhibit in a community show, an artist needs to come on the Installation Day (for this show, Thursday, November 20th) with their artwork ready to be displayed or hung. No more than two pieces per artist, please!
On Installation Day, the artist will fill out two labels including title, artist name, the medium, and the price, (or denoted NFS). One label will be attached to the artwork, the second will be given to the committee. The artist will also fill out an Artist Agreement and Sales Information Sheet if she or he does not already have one on file. All placement and hanging of the art will be done by the VAC.
Artists are urged to attend and contribute hors d’oeuvres for the Artist Reception on Friday, November 21st.
