Halloween Masquerade

The veil is thin. The verdant thicket of life safeguarding the joys of summer has used itself up. As the canopy withers into its slumber, death and decay are now able to peek down into our mortal world. They are curious. What are all these little creatures up to in the darkness of autumn? We are uncovered by leaves, seen by the darkness and afraid.
And so we put on our masquerades, our rituals and revelries, our festivals.

Continuing the partnership that began with Robert Keene and Jonathan Wilson’s involvement in “What Dreams May Come,” Fian and the Dance Collective tightened their ties with interdisciplinary performance art pieces “Animalia” and “Chiaroscuro” performed with forge artist Zack Leck at Imagine Festival in Doe Bay and twice at Fire and Story Festival in Bellingham.

Fian’s unique sound runs the gamut between classical, jazz, rock, electronic, and metal. The show features curated lighting and projection art by Orcas Center’s own Cameron Sherman.

Costumes are emphatically encouraged, and this event is for all ages.
